Edwards Brothers is pleased to offer our customers paper sourced from certified forests. We have earned both Forest Stewardship Council^™ (FSC^®) Certified Chain of Custody and Sustainable Forestry Initiative^® (SFI^®) program certifications.

Why Certify?

Certification ensures that the products we manufacture for our customers are made from materials harvested from well-managed forests. The certification process ensures that certified materials have not been mixed in with materials from uncertified forests at any point in the supply chain and production process. Obtaining certification involves intensive employee training seminars, independent internal audits, and ongoing chain-of-custody oversight to track paper fiber sourcing from acquisition and inventory management through manufacturing and distribution.

What is the Forest Stewardship Council^™?

FSC is an independent, non-governmental, not for profit organization established to promote the responsible management of the world's forests. It provides standard setting, trademark assurance and accreditation services for companies and organizations interested in responsible forestry. Products carrying the FSC^® label are independently certified to assure consumers that they come from forests that are managed to meet the social, economic and ecological needs of present and future generations. FSC^® has offices in more than 45 countries.

What is the Sustainable Forestry Initiative^®?

SFI Inc. is a fully independent, charitable organization dedicated to promoting sustainable forest management. They work with conservation groups, local communities, resource professionals, landowners, and other organizations and individuals to promote responsible forest management, including measures to protect water quality, biodiversity, wildlife habitat, species at risk, and forests with exceptional conservation value.

How to Get Your Books Certified

Follow these easy steps to secure permission to use an FSC^® or SFI^® label in your book:

• Call your Edwards Brothers' sales or customer service representative.
• Select an FSC^® or SFI^® certified paper.
• Provide a mockup of the label placement to Edwards Brothers (e.g., on the copyright page or cover).
• Based on the mockup, Edwards Brothers will insert the label into your book design and email the design layout featuring the label to FSC and/or SFI for final approval.
• Edwards Brothers will notify you when approval has been received&mdasy;normally within 24–48 hours.
