Edwards Brothers, Inc. is a fourth-generation family-run business, founded in the late 19th century in Ann Arbor, Michigan by University of Michigan Law School students Thomas and Daniel Edwards. The company produced and sold mimeographed lecture notes, soon expanding their customer base to colleges across the Midwest.
Today Edwards Brothers is one of the leading book and journal manufacturers in North America, employing nearly 750 people in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom and with annual sales approaching $90 million. Since its founding, thousands of men and women have taken their place on the Edwards Brothers team, including former President of the United States Gerald R. Ford, who worked for Edwards Brothers while attending the University of Michigan.
Recognized continuously as one of the Best Workplaces in America by the Printing Industries of America association, Edwards Brothers recognizes that to be the best we must offer the best — in talent, capabilities, and service. The cornerstone of this commitment is our skilled workforce, where the average length of service is over ten years, with nearly 40% of our work force serving 10 years or more. This impressive employee retention rate translates into a reliable and dedicated team of professionals — from the front office to the plant floor — and speaks volumes about our company.
